In a significant capacity-building milestone, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is set to induct 11,729 newly trained Constable/GD recruits into its operational ranks as they pass out from six Regional Training Centres (RTCs) across the country on Saturday.
This large-scale induction will result in an 8 per cent increase in the force’s overall operational strength, marking one of the most substantial expansions in recent years.
The Passing Out Parade (PoP) was held at six RTCs—Barwaha (Madhya Pradesh), Deoli (Rajasthan), Behror (Rajasthan), Thakkolam (Tamil Nadu), Bhilai (Chhattisgarh), and Mundali (Odisha).
This development comes soon after the Ministry of Home Affairs approved an enhanced ceiling of 2.2 lakh personnel for the CISF, enabling the force to meet its growing national security responsibilities.
The induction is expected to provide a major operational boost to the CISF, which secures more than 360 vital installations, including airports, seaports, nuclear plants, space facilities, and metro networks.
The new recruits will also play a crucial role in meeting manpower requirements at several new and high-priority installations recently brought under CISF security cover, such as Jewar Airport, Navi Mumbai Airport, and other critical infrastructure projects.
According to officials, the posting of new personnel has been carried out through a careful, data-driven assessment of factors such as threat perception, public footfall, gender ratio, and sector-specific operational demands.
Of the 11,729 new recruits, 1,896 are women personnel. In view of operational priorities and existing vacancies, a majority of them will be posted to airports and DMRC units, where women play an essential role in security screening and passenger handling.
Officials added that the force is set to further strengthen its footprint across India’s most sensitive and high-traffic installations, reaffirming its commitment to delivering secure, efficient, and technology-enabled protection to the nation’s critical infrastructure.
