Christian pastors, 5 others booked in Jhabua for alleged forced conversion and assault

An FIR has been registered against two Christian pastors and five others on charges of allegedly attempting to forcibly convert a tribal youth and assaulting him in the tribal-dominated Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.

According to sources, the incident occurred in Madrani village under the jurisdiction of the Kakanwani police station.

A large number of activists of the Sarva Adivasi Samaj staged protests in the area late Friday night following the incident.

They alleged that the victim, Gendalal Damor, was pressured to convert to Christianity by the accused. When he refused, they allegedly assaulted him and pelted stones at his house.

According to the police, a case has been registered against two Christian pastors and five others, and further investigation is underway.
