The death of Prateek Yadav, the youngest son of Samajwadi Party (SP) patriarch the late Mulayam Singh Yadav and stepbrother of Akhilesh Yadav, has cast a pall of gloom over the political landscape. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Prateek Yadav’s home to meet the bereaved family.
Aman Singh Bisht, the brother of Prateek Yadav’s wife and BJP leader, Aparna Yadav, brought him to Lucknow’s Civil Hospital around 6 am on Wednesday. According to Dr DC Pandey, Chief Medical Superintendent of the Civil Hospital, “When Prateek was brought in, his pulse was completely down. His heart had also stopped.”
Doctors declared him dead. The cause of death of 38-year-old Prateek Yadav is still unclear.
A postmortem was conducted on Prateek Yadav’s body at Lucknow Medical College. According to sources, no injury marks were found on the body.
However, viscera samples have been preserved as the cause of death is unclear. After the postmortem, Prateek’s body has been brought home. Funeral preparations are underway.
Prateek’s wife, Aparna Yadav, has also returned to Lucknow from Assam. She went straight from the airport to her home. Aparna had gone to Assam on Tuesday to attend Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s swearing-in ceremony.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also slated to visit Prateek’s residence to pay his condolences.
Earlier, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav also visited the postmortem house. He saw his younger brother’s body. He called Prateek’s driver and spoke with him inside.
Later, Akhilesh, his wife Dimple, uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, and other family members of Prateek and Aparna also arrived at the residence.
Emerging from the hospital, Akhilesh Yadav said, “It is sad that he is no longer with us. He was a young man who wanted to achieve something through hard work. We will accept whatever the family members say.” Akhilesh added that he last met Prateek two months ago.
In a statement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “The sudden demise of Prateek Yadav ji is extremely sad. My condolences are with the bereaved family. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant salvation to the departed soul.” He will now visit Prateek’s residence to console the family.
Prateek Yadav was involved in the real estate and fitness businesses. He owned “The Fitness Planet” gym in Lucknow and also ran an organisation, “Jeev Ashray.” The death of Prateek, who had stayed away from politics, has devastated the entire Yadav family.
