Chhattisgarh has emerged as a national role model in public communication and information dissemination, with a high-level delegation from Maharashtra expressing deep appreciation for the state’s innovative practices during a three day official study visit.
The six-member team from the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR), Government of Maharashtra, led by Deputy Secretary Samruddhi Angolkar and Director Kishor Gangarde, undertook a comprehensive review of the Department of Public Relations (DPR) and its autonomous body, Chhattisgarh Samvad, from August 5 to 7.
During their visit, the officials examined key systems including e-News Clipping, e-Release Order (e-RO), e-Publication, and welfare schemes for journalists. The delegation was also briefed on the department’s organizational structure, workflow models, and integration of digital platforms to streamline public communication.
Commissioner of Public Relations Dr. Ravi Mittal welcomed the delegation and emphasized Chhattisgarh’s commitment to transparent, technology enabled, and people centric information services. “Our approach ensures timely communication of government policies while maintaining a human touch. We are glad that other states are showing interest in our model,” he said.
The Maharashtra delegation visited the DPR office at Indravati Bhawan, where Additional Directors J L Dariyo, Umesh Mishra, and Sanjeev Tiwari provided detailed insights into departmental operations and innovations.
Impressed by the systematic and digital first approach adopted by Chhattisgarh, the visiting officials expressed interest in replicating similar practices in Maharashtra, highlighting the value of interstate learning in public administration.
