Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday appealed to people across the state to remain cautious as temperatures continue to rise sharply. He also urged citizens to show compassion toward vulnerable sections of society during the ongoing heatwave.

The Chief Minister advised people to drink sufficient water, carry water while travelling outdoors and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak daytime hours. He said basic precautions can significantly reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.

Sai appealed to residents to make arrangements for drinking water near homes, shops, offices and public places for passersby and daily commuters. He said even small efforts by citizens can provide much-needed relief to people struggling in extreme weather conditions.

He called for special attention toward children, elderly persons, labourers and others who spend long hours outdoors. The Chief Minister said anyone showing signs of heat exhaustion or illness should immediately be shifted to a shaded or cooler place and given water, ORS or other fluids. He also stressed the importance of timely medical assistance in serious cases.

Appealing for sensitivity towards animals and birds, Sai urged people to keep water containers on terraces, balconies, courtyards and other nearby open spaces. He said such simple steps could help save lives during the intense summer heat.

The Chief Minister said that the prevailing weather conditions require collective responsibility, awareness and public cooperation. He appealed to people across Chhattisgarh to support one another and remain mindful of those most affected by the severe heatwave.
