Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to New Delhi on Thursday. The meeting was focused on ongoing development efforts in the Bastar region. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma was also present during the discussion.
Sharing details on social media platform X, Sai said the meeting reviewed progress under key initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Swasth Bastar Abhiyan and the Bastar Munne Abhiyan. These programmes are aimed at extending healthcare and basic services to remote and previously Maoist-affected areas.
The Chief Minister said that areas once considered inaccessible are now seeing regular outreach by medical teams. Health workers are conducting check-ups, providing treatment and ensuring that essential services reach villagers in interior regions.
Sai also informed that old security camps in Bastar are being gradually transformed into “Jan Suvidha Kendras”. These centres are designed to provide multiple services under one roof, including healthcare, education support, banking access and information about government schemes. He said the initiative has helped improve access to basic facilities in forested areas and has contributed to building trust between local communities and the administration.
The meeting also covered broader aspects of Bastar’s development, including strengthening public confidence, expanding healthcare services, improving education, creating employment opportunities and enhancing infrastructure.
Sai said that the state government is working to guide Bastar towards peace and development. He added that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, efforts are being made to accelerate growth and improve living conditions in the region.
