The Cabinet of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday took a series of decisions on clean energy, sports infrastructure, welfare, and administrative matters.
In a key administrative move, the Cabinet revoked the demotion order dated September 26, 2019, related to three 1988-batch Indian Police Service officers — Sanjay Pille, R.K. Vij, and Mukesh Gupta. The decision followed a review of the matter.
The Cabinet also annulled the related decision taken on September 24, 2019. All orders have been restored to the position that existed prior to those decisions. Officials said the move came after a detailed examination of the facts.
In another decision, the Cabinet approved the Chhattisgarh Urban Gas Distribution Policy, 2026. The policy aims to expand access to clean and affordable natural gas in urban areas and provide a cost-effective alternative to LPG.
Officials said the policy will help speed up the expansion of gas pipelines and create a more efficient fuel system. It is expected to promote cleaner energy use, attract investment, generate employment, and improve public convenience.
On the welfare front, the Cabinet approved financial aid amounting to approximately Rs 11 crore 98 lakh 84 thousand from the Chief Minister’s discretionary grant fund for 6,809 individuals and institutions.
The assistance has been extended to provide prompt relief to those in need, strengthen social support mechanisms, and offer support in various urgent and essential circumstances.
The Cabinet also approved the allotment of five acres of land at concessional rates to the Rajnandgaon District Cricket Association for the development of a modern sports ground and cricket academy. The move is expected to strengthen sports infrastructure and support young talent.
