The Chamber is gearing up for its 61st Annual General Meeting on September 20 and elections for the 2025–26 session on September 21 at Swarnabhoomi Banquet, Dangratoli.
Election officials Bikas Singh and Pawan Sharma said 56 nominations were filed, including six for regional vice-presidents, all of whom have been elected unopposed. For the executive committee, 50 nominations were received, six withdrawn, leaving 44 candidates for 21 seats.
The electorate stands at 3,985 members – 3,727 life, 158 general, 85 affiliated bodies, 10 corporate and five patron members. Each has one vote, except affiliated bodies with two. Eligibility is restricted to members enrolled within the prescribed cut-off dates.
Voting arrangements include on-site fee payment. Counting will follow polling, with recount appeals allowed until 2 p.m. on September 22 on payment of ₹10,000 plus GST.
Officials stressed strict adherence to the code of conduct: no ID cards for candidates at the venue, no campaigning in the 24 hours before polling, no use of Chamber premises or logo for canvassing. Breaches can invite disqualification.
Calling for cooperation to ensure peaceful polling, Singh warned that violations would be dealt with firmly. Former president Lalit Kedia described the AGM as the Chamber’s “centre of activities,” where accounts are reviewed and future initiatives discussed.
