The Union government is set to introduce two key legislations — The National Sports Governance Bill, 2025 and The National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill, 2025 — in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
Parliament has seen limited business since the Monsoon Session commenced on July 21, with both Houses witnessing repeated adjournments and heated exchanges over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in poll-bound Bihar.
Opposition parties have persistently demanded a debate in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on the voter list revision exercise.
According to the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the two Bills are scheduled for introduction and passage in the Lower House tomorrow.
Meanwhile, members of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) are expected to meet over dinner at Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s residence on August 7, sources said on Sunday.
The meeting was announced a day after the former Congress president claimed that at least 70–80 Lok Sabha seats may have been rigged in the 2024 general elections, during his address at a party conclave on Saturday.
The INDIA bloc is likely to discuss the ongoing SIR in Bihar, alleged voter list manipulation in Maharashtra, Operation Sindoor, the India–US trade deal, and the tariffs threatened by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
This will be the second meeting of the INDIA alliance since the commencement of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
