Celebrity manager Anirban Das Blah, one of the accused caught in the #MeToo row, allegedly tried to commit suicide near Mumbai on Thursday night.

According to media reports, the police were able to stop Anirban just in time as they found him on a bridge in Vashi around 12.30 am.

The co-founder of Kwan Entertainment was reportedly seen climbing the barricades of the bridge when the police stopped him.

Earlier this week, Mid-Day newspaper had published a report quoting four women, who asked that their identities be kept a secret, saying that they faced harassment at the hands of Blah.

After the MeToo allegation surfaced, Anirban, who headed the talent management company that handles Bollywood stars, was asked to “step aside”.

“In view of the article dated 16th October 2018 published in The Midday, we have asked Anirban Blah to forthwith step aside from his duties, activities and responsibilities at KWAN, its subsidiaries and affiliates with immediate effect,” a statement from Kwan had said.

The organisation, which manages the work of some of the biggest names in Hindi cinema, said the movement has pushed them to take a step back and introspect.

“The past few days have been very disturbing to everyone in light of the #MeToo Movement and it has pushed us all to take a step back and introspect whether each of us is doing enough to create a healthy and safe environment.

“We fully support the #MeToo Movement and deprecate and condemn those who have exploited women in any form or manner.”

The company said they have a Policy for Prevention of Sexual Harassment committee (PoSH) in place and complaints can be directed to the committee.
