CCTV captures midnight petrol bomb attack on RSS office in Ranchi; BJP alleges larger conspiracy

A police investigation is underway after unidentified individuals allegedly hurled petrol bombs at an RSS office in Ranchi at around 12:38 am on Wednesday.

Ranchi Police said the attack did not cause any damage to the premises. Officials have launched a probe to identify those involved and ascertain the motive behind the incident. Police said they are investigating the incident and trying to identify those behind the attack.

CCTV footage from the premises reportedly shows two youths hurling petrol bombs at the office around 12:38 am before fleeing the spot.

Leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly, Babulal Marandi, described the incident as serious and suggested it could have been part of preparations for a larger attack.

“At around 12 am, two men threw petrol bombs at the RSS office. They came by car with motorbikes accompanying them. This is a serious matter because it was preparation for a bigger incident. We have spoken to the DC on it,” Marandi said.

Union Minister of State and BJP leader Sanjay Seth also raised concerns over the incident and called for stronger security arrangements around the RSS office.

“An attack on the Sangh office. The Sangh office is our mother. At 12:36 am, two youths throw petrol bombs at the Sangh office. It indicates towards a big conspiracy. We have spoken to the DC. The senior SP is not returning our calls. We have requested to establish a police picket near the Sangh’s office,” Seth said.

Police have not yet disclosed details regarding suspects or possible motives behind the attack.
