Amid protests by students against the re-examination of board papers – Class 10 mathematics and Class 12 economics – following leak of question papers, the chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Raj Thackeray on Friday urged parents not to let their children sit for re-examination.
According to media reports, Raj Thackeray supported the student and blamed the government for not accepting the failure. Terming the paper leak as government’s failure, Thackeray asked why students should suffer without any fault of their won. He, reportedly, asked parents to not let their child sit for re-examination.
Meanwhile, students and Congress youth leaders on Friday held protests in several parts of Delhi against CBSE papers leak, accusing the board of negligence and demanding immediate action against the guilty.
The CBSE announced a retest of the two papers earlier this week following reports that the papers were leaked. The dates of re-examinations have not been announced yet.
The CBSE controller of examination was interrogated by the Delhi Police Crime Branch for four hours in connection with the CBSE paper leak case, according to some reports in the media.
The police have claimed at least 1,000 students could have accessed the leaked papers.
The crime branch questioned the exam in-charge about the security measures, in addition to methods of printing the papers and how they are sent to exam centres.
On Thursday, the crime branch had questioned 25 people, including the owner of a coaching centre, 18 students and some tutors, over alleged leak of CBSE examination papers.
