A day-long conference held in the national capital brought together leading clinicians, policymakers, hospital leaders, innovators, journalists and patient advocates to champion a bold shift towards truly patient-centric healthcare in India.

Organised by Pacific OneHealth, the emerging chain of Micro Hospitals of India, CareCon 2026, was held at India Habitat Centre on Tuesday.

During the event, “Care As It Should Be Excellence Awards 2026” were given to true healthcare champions — clinicians, nurses, administrators, and institutions that have consistently placed compassion and patient dignity above everything else and in a special segment of the awards, excellence in health journalism was also recognised, celebrating media professionals who have amplified patient voices and driven meaningful conversations in healthcare.

Nikhil Vyas, Special Correspondent from The Statesman received Healthcare Journalism Award.

The conference featured high-powered sessions on preventive health and early intervention, precision ageing & women’s health, AI in clinical pathways, micro-hospital models, and the future of distributed care.

At the event, Dr. Swadeep Srivastava, Co-Founder & President, Pacific OneHealth and Organising Chairperson, CareCon 2026, said, “Healthcare transformation will not happen through technology alone. It requires alignment across every stakeholder — clinicians, diagnostics, insurers, policymakers, and communities.”
