Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who is visiting India from February 17-23, is slated to visit Golden Temple on February 21.

Travelling in a special Canadian aircraft from Mumbai, he will arrive at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar at 10:30 am.

“Canadian PM is arriving on February 21 to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple. We are making all the preparations for the visit,” The Indian Express quoted Amritsar DC K S Sangha as saying.

According to the reports, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh will receive Canadian PM Trudeau and will also accompany him to the Golden Temple.

“Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh will receive Canadian PM and will also go to the Golden Temple with him,” officials said in Amritsar.

The Canadian premier is visiting India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the course of his visit, Trudeau will also visit Agra, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and New Delhi.

In Amritsar, Trudeau will be visiting the Golden Temple, the holiest of Sikh shrines. Amarinder Singh had last week said that he was looking forward to meeting the Canadian Prime Minister.
