Rajya Sabha Chairman C P Radhakrishnan on Wednesday administered the oath of office to newly elected members Mansoor Ali Khan of Karnataka and Rajneesh Kumar Agrawal of Madhya Pradesh at Parliament House.
According to an official statement issued by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, Mansoor Ali Khan took the oath in English, while Rajneesh Kumar Agrawal made the affirmation in Hindi.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Harivansh, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan, Rajya Sabha member Jairam Ramesh, Rajya Sabha Secretary-General P C Mody and other senior officers of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
With the administration of the oath, the two newly elected members formally assumed their responsibilities as members of the Upper House, enabling them to participate in the proceedings and legislative business of the Rajya Sabha.
