The court of the Bulandshahr Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) has issued non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against 27 persons who have been named in the FIR  which was lodged post-violence that took place on December 3 in Syana following the alleged reports of cow slaughter.

The CJM court issued NBWs against all 27 accused on Wednesday. Police have already arrested 11 people including Jeetu Fauji, who was arrested earlier after he was brought by the Army from J&K where he was posted. The named accused have been charged under sections 147, 148, 149, 124A, 332, 333, 353, 341, 336, 307, 302, 427, 436 of IPC and damaging public property.

The police pleaded before the CJM court that the absconding accused are trying to influence the witnesses and pieces of evidence by releasing videos. This will also affect the communal harmony in the area hence in wake of the sensitivity of the case NBWs be issued.

Hearing to the pleas of the police the CJM issued NBWs against the 27 accused who include Bajrang Dal’s district coordinator Yogesh Raj, BJP’s youth wing city president of Syana Shikhar Agarwal, VHP activist Upendra Raghav, and former pradhan of Mahav village Rajkumar. All these accused are absconding and the police want to tighten the noose around them for which they sought the issuance of NBWs from the court.

It may be noted that six police teams have been formed to arrest the identified accused. The SIT is working on the case and minutely investigating the video clips of the violence to identify the people involved in it.

SSP office of Bulandshahar confirmed that NBWs have been issued against the named accused.  It is believed that the proceedings of confiscating their property would start if they don’t surrender in the court or present themselves for arrest.
