In a significant anti-smuggling operation, alert BSF personnel recovered over 5.3 kg of suspected heroin early Monday morning in the R.S. Pura area along the India-Pakistan international border in Jammu. The contraband, believed to have been dropped by a drone, was packed in two yellow-colored packets containing ten smaller packets.

A BSF spokesperson said the seizure followed precise intelligence, enabling troops to foil yet another attempt by Pakistan-based smugglers to push narcotics into Indian territory.

On 26 October, acting on specific information from BSF intelligence, a special ambush was laid in the depth area of R.S. Pura. During a search operation launched on 27 October morning near Village Bidipur, alert BSF personnel recovered two yellow-coloured packets (containing 10 small packets wrapped within them) weighing approximately 5.300 kg.from the farmland.

A thorough search of the area is ongoing, and police have been called in for further necessary action. “BSF remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard our borders and nation from all threats,” the spokesperson added.
