BSB organises training camps for teachers to promote value-based education

The Indian Education Board (Bharatiya Shiksha Board – BSB) this week organised training camps to equip teachers from five states with skill-based education and various aspects of value-based learning rooted in Indian culture.

The training programme for the Haridwar Zone was held at Kanya Gurukul, Haridwar, in two phases.

The first phase was conducted on June 20 and 21 for teachers of Classes 1 to 5, while the second phase was held on June 23 and 24 for teachers of Classes 6 to 8.

More than 250 teachers from Uttarakhand, western Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh participated in the programme.

BSB Chairman and retired IAS officer NP Singh briefed teachers on skill-based education, the Indian knowledge tradition, and the integration of modern teaching methodologies.

He said that the objective of the Indian Education Board is not merely to provide employment-oriented education, but also to shape students into individuals with a strong grounding in Indian culture, moral values and life skills.

Such students, he said, would become strong contributors to nation-building and play a meaningful role in building a developed and prosperous India.

Addressing the valedictory session, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev urged teachers to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, honesty and commitment.

He said teachers play the most significant role in nation-building and social development.

He called upon them to take the knowledge and experience gained during the training back to their schools and contribute to building a capable, value-based and self-reliant India.

Ramdev said that India could achieve true freedom from the colonial mindset and Macaulay’s education system through an alternative framework such as the Indian Education Board.

He said the greatest responsibility for bringing about this transformation rests with teachers, who lay the foundation for future generations. He urged them to nurture students enriched with knowledge, values, skills and a sense of nationalism, capable of realising the vision of making India a global leader.

During the training programme, resource persons from Delhi, Meerut, Modinagar, Dehradun and Haldwani conducted sessions on Hindi, English, Bal Vatika (early childhood education), Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Sanskrit and The World Around Us.

Training and Gurukul Education Advisor Vandana Pandey, along with other Board officials, was also present on the occasion.
