Disturbing details emerging from the post-mortem report of 24-year-old Deepika Nagar have deepened outrage in the Greater Noida dowry death case, with doctors finding multiple severe internal and external injuries, including a brain hematoma, ruptured spleen and bone-deep wounds, suggesting she suffered extreme physical trauma before her death.
The chilling findings have surfaced amid allegations by Deepika’s family that she was repeatedly harassed, assaulted and pressured for more dowry by her husband Hrithik and his family after marriage. Deepika had allegedly jumped from the third floor of a building in Greater Noida’s Jalpura village following prolonged mental and physical torture linked to escalating dowry demands.
Police have already registered a case in connection with the incident after the woman’s family accused her husband and in-laws of driving her to suicide through continuous abuse and intimidation.
Autopsy points to severe trauma before death
According to the post-mortem report, Deepika Nagar suffered multiple serious injuries across different parts of her body. The report noted internal bleeding in the brain along with hematoma formation in the central and left regions, indicating major head trauma.
Doctors also found rupture of the spleen and signs of haemorrhage, pointing towards intense physical impact before death.
The report further mentioned swelling on her face, injuries on the left elbow and forearm, wounds on the lower abdomen and lower back, and several deep abrasion marks on the chest and abdominal area.
One of the most alarming findings in the report was a large blue contusion measuring nearly 38 cm × 14 cm on the right thigh along with a bone-deep wound on the left knee joint.
Investigators also noted bleeding from the left ear, further raising questions over the extent of injuries sustained before the incident.
