An IndiGo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad made an unscheduled emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai on Tuesday morning after authorities received a serious bomb threat.

Security personnel immediately isolated the aircraft upon landing and carried out a thorough inspection.

The threat, reportedly sent via email warning of a bomb on board, prompted security agencies at both Hyderabad and Mumbai airports to activate full emergency protocols.
Fortunately, no suspicious items or explosives were found onboard, and the threat was later declared a hoax following rigorous checks.

IndiGo issued a statement today confirming that its flight 6E1234, which was operating between Kuwait and Hyderabad, was diverted to Mumbai on December 2, 2025, after the airline received a security threat. The airline immediately informed the relevant authorities and is fully cooperating with them as they conduct the necessary security checks in line with established protocol before the aircraft can be cleared for its onward journey.

The airline spokesperson noted that customer welfare is being prioritized while the checks are completed. IndiGo is making every effort to minimise inconvenience by offering refreshments and providing regular updates to passengers. The statement concluded by reaffirming the airline’s commitment: “As always, safety and security of our customers, crew and aircraft are our topmost priorities.”
