A bomb threat at the Rajasthan High Court building here on Friday kept the police on their toes for hours and delayed the commencement of court proceedings by more than half an hour.
According to court and police sources, an email received this morning on the High Court’s official ID threatened to blow up the building using RDX unless the scheduled Jaipur visit of the Chief Justice of India (CJI) to inaugurate a cyber security seminar on Friday evening was cancelled.
Following the threat, police personnel, accompanied by sniffer dogs and a bomb disposal squad, carried out a thorough search of the court premises. However, no explosive or suspicious material was found. The search operation caused a delay of more than half an hour in the start of court proceedings.
This was the second bomb hoax at the premises in less than 24 hours, adversely affecting court work. The High Court has received at least 10 bomb threats over the past four months. The first threatening email was received on October 31, 2025, and since then, similar emails have been sent at regular intervals.
