Bomb attack on KSU leader’s house in Vadakara

A bomb was hurled at the house of a leader of KSU, the student wing of Congress, at Thiruvallur, near Vadakara, in Kozhikode district, who was arrested after Health Minister Veena George was allegedly injured during a protest, early on Friday.

The attack, allegedly by CPM workers, took place around 2.30 am at the house of KSU Kozhikode district secretary Bithul Balan, is suspected to be a retaliation against the attack on the Health Minister.

Bithul Balan is currently in judicial custody in connection with the alleged attack on Veena George at Kannur Railway Station on Wednesday. The Vadakara Police registered a case against unidentified persons under Section 3 (causing explosion likely to endanger life or property) and Section 5 (making or possession of explosives) of the Explosive Substances Act.

Meanwhile, Veena George, who was injured during the protest by KSU workers in Kannur, was discharged from Pariyaram Medical College Hospital on early Friday morning.
