Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai on Friday triggered a controversy with his response to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s suggestion that citizens should have three children for population control.
Attacking the Sangh, Rai remarked, “The RSS is an army of widowers.” He questioned how an unmarried RSS member could advise on family matters. His remarks came shortly after a Congress worker used abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bihar.
However, the BJP reacted sharply and demanded an apology from the Congress for Rai’s statement.
The party stated that Congress is an army of foul-mouthed individuals and warned that the public will respond accordingly.
BJP state spokesperson Anand Dubey said, “The Congress party is an army of foul-mouthed people. It has always been its habit to target PM Modi and organisations like the RSS, which are dedicated to serving the country. The public will give an appropriate answer to this misconduct.”
