New Delhi, 14 August
The Opposition BJP today sought “people’s views” on the charge-sheet it intends to prepare against the UPA government over its “failure” on multiple fronts and to highlight the scams unearthed during Mr Manmohan Singh’s regime.
The charge-sheet committee constituted under the aegis of the BJP Campaign Committee headed by Mr Narendra Modi announced launching of a website and made its clear that the party wants to “crowd source” inputs in preparing the charge sheet against the Congress-led UPA ahead of the next general elections.
In a joint statement, Deputy Leaders of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad and Mr Gopinath Munde said the BJP shall, as a team, go to different parts of the country and through Jan Sampark or “direct people’s contact” programmes elicit views from the public.
“We invite people of India to actively participate in this crowd sourcing exercise,” the statement said. The BJP said people can reach the party through and released other URLs through which people using applications like telephone, Facebook, Twitter, Powerpoint, Youtube and Flickr can access and provide inputs including photos, slogans, videos to the Opposition party and their views on the charge-sheet.
Mr Munde said corruption has also led to unbridled price rise. The BJP will hold Jan Sampark meetings in Mumbai on 4 September, Lucknow on 11 September, Bangalore on 21 September and Guwahati on 28 September.
