In yet another shocker from the ruling BJP leaders in Madhya Pradesh, the party’s district vice-president of Morena made derogatory comments against a female singer at a fair in the district, saying from stage that “people must have enjoyed her performance, as she was wearing her pants three inches below her navel”.
The leader, Jinesh Jain, made the offensive remark against Bollywood singer Sonal Pradhan, who had performed on stage on Sunday during the Jayehswar Mahadev fair in Ambah area of the district. He passed the comment on Monday from a stage while a video of him doing so went viral on Thursday.
In the video, Jain can be seen saying, “Yesterday, the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa performed on stage. Her pants were three inches below her navel. So, I told the public that you would have really enjoyed it”. “You people watch it in movies. I said it publicly,” he reasoned.
Jain further claimed in his speech that no one can become the President of the Nagar Palika without his wish. “Meri bina marzi ke, Nagar Palika ka Adhyaksh koi banega hi nahi”, he asserted.
He further said that his words would be taken as arrogance, but this is the reality.
This is not the first time a BJP leader hogged the limelight with such derogatory remarks. Senior BJP leaders, including cabinet ministers, have made such derogatory remarks made in the past few months in Madhya Pradesh.
Tribal Welfare Minister Vijay Shah is already facing an FIR, being heard by the Supreme Court, for his offensive comments made publicly against Indian Army Colonel Sofiya Quereshi regarding Operation Sindoor. Shah later made another controversial remark during an official meeting, directing officers to reconsider providing benefits to such women beneficiaries who do not come to felicitate Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav at the Laadli Behna Yojana events.
Revenue minister Karan Singh Verma also said that names of the women who do not come on stage during such events should be cut from the beneficiary list.
Urban development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya had also said at an event that these days, girls wear such clothes that they look like “Shoorpnakha”, the sister of Ravana.
