The BJP has launched an exercise to counter what it calls “misinformation and confusion” being spread by opposition parties regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Party leaders say the organisational drive aims to clarify why the revision is being undertaken, explain how the process works, and reassure voters that official guidelines are being followed in a “completely transparent” manner.

A central coordination team, led by BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh, is spearheading the campaign.

The team includes leaders such as K. Laxman, Alka Gurjar, O.P. Dhankhar, Rituraj Sinha, Anirban Ganguly and K. Annamalai. They have been tasked with developing outreach strategies based on data, official information, and on-ground feedback for cadres and leaders.

The primary objective, party leaders explain, is to use factual data, official inputs, and region-wise grassroots feedback to counter what the BJP describes as the opposition’s “false narrative.”

The team leaders will conduct workshops and meetings to brief party workers on the details of the revision process. The BJP is organising structured, booth-level outreach efforts to ensure that voters receive accurate information about the SIR.

The party has accused opposition groups of intentionally creating confusion around the revision exercise.

According to Chugh, the opposition is deliberately spreading false interpretations and rumours about the SIR, and the BJP is fully prepared to counter these distortions.

Meetings are being held at every organisational level in states where the SIR is under way. The BJP, leaders say, will respond with verified facts and documents to dispel doubts and “present the real picture” of the voter-roll revision.
