Newly elected Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President Pankaj Chaudhary said that there is no individual dominance, familyism, or casteism in the BJP.

“The party’s workers are its greatest strength. They shoulder even the most demanding responsibilities. Because of this faith, the people have repeatedly blessed the BJP,” he said.

In his maiden address after assuming charge as State President on Sunday, Pankaj Chaudhary recalled his political journey, saying that he did not initially aspire to enter politics. He entered public life because he could not tolerate wrongdoing.

He said that the BJP gave him the opportunity to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Maharajganj at the young age of 26. From 1991 to 2024, he remained continuously connected with his constituency, and with the hard work of the party and its workers, he was fortunate to be elected as a seven-time Member of Parliament.

Currently serving as Minister of State for Finance in the Government of India, Chaudhary described the responsibility of State President as the most serious and challenging role of his political career.

Pankaj Chaudhary said he would learn from the experiences of the 15 State Presidents who have served since 1980 and seek their guidance. He also paid tribute on stage to the former State Presidents who are no longer with the party.

Describing workers, office, programmes, and ideology as the four pillars and backbone of the BJP, he said he has fought every election in his political career on the strength of party workers. Expressing deep respect for them, he said, “You are paramount to me. I will fight for you and continue to fight for you.”

Clarifying the true meaning of leadership, he said leadership is not merely about issuing orders. A true leader listens to everyone, finds solutions, and carries the entire family along. His objective is to strengthen communication and coordination within the organisation so that the voices of workers reach the government and the government’s welfare schemes reach the people.

He said that no one in the BJP is ever truly “former.” The experience of former MPs, MLAs, and office bearers is a valuable asset to the party, and the organisation will fully utilise it.

Highlighting the transformation of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pankaj Chaudhary said India has made unprecedented progress since 2014. Schemes such as free rations for 800 million people, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, Kisan Samman Nidhi, and Ayushman Bharat have ensured development reaches the last person. Today, India is among the world’s fastest-growing economies and is set to become the third-largest economy soon.

Praising Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, he said the image of Uttar Pradesh has completely transformed. While the mention of the state once evoked hesitation, Uttar Pradesh is now being praised across the country. From the success of Chandrayaan missions to improvements in infrastructure and law and order, the state has emerged as a model of development.

Concluding his address, he said his political journey, which began as a councillor in 1989, has reached this milestone with the guidance and support of the Sangh Parivar. He assured that he would work shoulder to shoulder with party workers to take the BJP organisation to new heights.
