Stating that the BJP has become synonymous with corruption, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav alleged that it has been proved now in the wake of yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling declaring the electoral bonds unconstitutional.
In a message addressed to the farmer on Friday, Yadav said, “The kind of manipulation with which the electoral bonds were introduced proves that corruption runs deep into the roots of BJP politics.”
He said the Supreme Court’s ruling on the so-called political donations has infused new energy into the farmers’ movement. “The BJP denied the poor, farmers, and labourers their rightful dues for far too long. This will have to end now,” he added.
He called upon the farmers, laborers, and all those who are opposed to the BJP’s policies to reach out to every village, street, and town in the country with this message. “Let everyone know how the ‘corrupt BJP’ takes money from the rich and conspires against the common people by emotionally exploiting them,” he said.
“If an MP can lose her membership on a trumped up charge of taking money for raising questions in Parliament, why then all BJP MPs should not lose their collective membership for taking money to make anti-farmer/labourer policies,” he asked.
He said, “The mask of BJP, which looted the people by distributing a handful of ration, has come off. The people will win, BJP will lose! We are all together.”
He conveyed his deep condolences on the death of Sardar Gyan Singh, a farmer from Gurdaspur, during the farm protest at Shambhu Border.
He said the Supreme Court should demand from the BJP details of the deaths of farmers during the farmers’ movements.
“Farmer provides food to the country. Agriculture is the backbone of the country’s economy. The public won’t tolerate the humiliation meted out to the farmers. The time for the end of the BJP government has now come with the storm of farmers’ wrath,” he added.
