Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that the BJP does not want people to vote. He claimed that just as action is being taken in Bihar now, votes were similarly deleted during the last Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
“Many people who had voted in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, found their names deleted from the voter list in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh polls,” he alleged in a statement here on Tuesday.
When we raised our voice, the Election Commission had given us a notice, Yadav said.
“Samajwadi Party and its workers worked hard in the entire state and identified more than 18,000 such people who had voted earlier, but their votes were deleted in the next election,” he alleged.
Speaking about the Pahalgam terror attack, Yadav said that the Samajwadi Party wants the matter to be discussioned in the Lok Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be present when the discussion takes place, Yadav stressed.
