Days after Dalits protested across the country, a Dalit lawmaker of the ruling BJP, Chhote Lal Kharwar, in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi has alleged ‘misbehavior’ by UP CM Yogi Adityanath.

As per an NDTV news report, Chhote Lal, who represents Uttar Pradesh’s Robertsganj constituency, has complained to PM Modi that he met Chief Minister Adityanath twice to take the issues concerning his constituency, but was “scolded and thrown out”.

Meanwhile, PM Modi has reportedly assured him that action will be taken.

His letter names Yogi Adityanath, state BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey and another leader Sunil Bansal.

Chhote Lal has also complained to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

In his letter, he stated that he had been raising instances of rampant corruption in the district administration and forest department in the Chandauli district near his constituency for nearly three years. After Yogi Adityanath came to power last year, he said, he had hoped that the situation would be remedied but nothing was done. Rather, his land was shown as encroached forestland by the administration.

He has also written that local BJP leaders have been working against him and his brother, who is a local politician, and are colluding with rival parties.

On Wednesday, a youth alleged that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath pushed him away when he went to petition him about a land-grabbing matter.

Ayush Singhal, 24, broke down in front of journalists while recounting how Adityanath literally heckled him at his ‘Janata Darbaar’ when he told him that his 22-acre land has been grabbed by legislator Amanmani Tripathi, who is also involved in a criminal case.

“I went to the Chief Minister. But instead of hearing me out, he pushed me aside and threw the file away,” Singhal alleged. He quoted Adityanath as alleging that he (Singhal) was an “awaraa” and that no action would be taken against the legislator.
