: The special intensive revision in Bihar is progressing well with 3,70,77,077 enumeration forms collected, accounting for 46.95 percent of the total 7.90 crore electors in the state, the Election Commission said in a press note on Tuesday.
This milestone was achieved within the first 14 days of the exercise, which commenced on June 24.
The poll panel said that over 97 percent of the 7.90 crore printed forms (7,70,44,990) have been distributed to electors while 18.16 percent of the forms have been uploaded in the ECINET.
A massive effort involving 77,895 Booth Level Officers and nearly 4 lakh volunteers, including government officials, NCC cadets, and NSS members, has been instrumental in facilitating the elderly, Persons with Disabilities, and vulnerable populations in the SIR process. The addition of 20,603 BLOs on the ground has further expedited the collection process.
District Presidents of all recognized political parties have actively participated in appointing BLAs, with 1,56,626 BLAs appointed so far, up from 1,38,680 at the beginning of the exercise.
With 17 days remaining before the deadline, the authorities are confident that the exercise will be completed within the stipulated time-frame, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive electoral roll revision process.
