The Election Commission of India (ECI) said on Sunday that it has not received any claim or objection from any political parties even after the release of the draft electoral roll under the Bihar Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

The ECI published the draft Bihar voter list on August 1 and as of 3 pm on August 10, no political party has submitted any claim or objection against the inclusion or exclusion of electors.

The ECI has given political parties time till September 1 to file their claims or objections regarding the inclusion of eligible voters who are left out of the voter list and exclusion of those who they think are in the voter list but not eligible.

However, it has received 8,341 claims and objections directly from electors for inclusion of eligible electors and exclusion of ineligible electors, according to a daily bulletin on Bihar SIR 2025.

The poll panel has also received 46,588 Form 6 and Declarations from new electors on attaining 18 years of age or above, including six forms from BLAs.

As per rules, the Claims and Objections are to be disposed of by the concerned ERO/AERO after the expiry of 7 days after the verification of eligibility documents.

According to the SIR orders, no name can be deleted from the draft list published on August 1, 2025 without passing a speaking order by the ERO/AERO after conducting an enquiry and after giving a fair and reasonable opportunity.

Earlier on Saturday, the poll panel told the Supreme Court that anyone whose name is missing from the draft voter list can file Form 6 along with a signed declaration by September 1, following which Electoral Registration Officers must hear them and give reasons in cases where inclusion is contested.

The ECI also informed the court that it shared with all recognised parties booth-level lists of electors whose enumeration forms were not received.
