Congratulating his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar for the NDA’s landslide in the assembly election, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday said the result, however, does not whitewash the misdeeds and reckless actions of the poll panel.
Reacting to the decisive victory of the Janata Dal (U) veteran, Stalin wished Nitish Kumar well in fulfilling the expectations of the people but blamed the Election Commission for its partisan actions.
“#BiharElection2025: Lessons for everyone. I congratulate veteran leader @NitishKumar for his decisive victory and wish him well in fulfilling the exdpectations of the people of #Bihar,” he said on his ‘X’ timeline, acknowledging “Election outcomes reflect welfare delivery, social and ideological coalitions, clear political messaging, and dedicated management until the last vote is polls.”
While appreciating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav for his spirited campaign, he expressed confidence that the INDIA Bloc leadership would understand the message and effectively address the emerging challenges. “I also appreciate @yadavtejaswi for his tireless campaign… The leaders of the #INDIA Bloc are seasoned politicians capable of reading the message and planning strategically to address emerging challenges,” he post read.
Then coming down heavily on the poll watchdog, he said “The result of this election does not whitewash the misdeeds and reckless actions of the ECI. The reputation of the #ECI is at its lowest point. The citizens of this country deserve a stronger and more impartial Election Commission, whose conduct of polls should inspire confidence even among those who do not win.”
The DMK chief, a virulent critic of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Tamil Nadu, has been citing Bihar as a laboratory of the BJP for mass disenfranchisement of minorities and Dalits through the SIR exercise to benefit the saffron party. The Dravidian major had also approached the Supreme Court to stall the SIR in the State.
