Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary marked the completion of his first month in office with major announcements on Saturday, including approval for two cement manufacturing units by leading companies Dalmia and Ambuja Cements in Muzaffarpur and Kishanganj, and the establishment of the country’s third National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) on 100 acres of land in Hajipur.
The Bihar government’s latest push to accelerate industrial investment in the state is expected to strengthen Bihar’s industrial landscape and create employment opportunities for thousands of young people.
Samrat Choudhary, who was sworn in as Bihar’s 24th Chief Minister on April 15 following Nitish Kumar’s resignation after his election to the Rajya Sabha, shared the announcements through a series of posts on social media platform X.
Describing the developments as a historic step marking a new chapter for Bihar, Choudhary said, “A new chapter of industrial investment has begun in Bihar. In the 67th meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), major units of Dalmia and Ambuja Cement in Muzaffarpur and Kishanganj have been approved.”
“Along with this, 16 projects have received Stage-1 clearance and four projects have received financial approval. The youth of Seemanchal will no longer need to leave their homes in search of jobs, industries are now coming to their doorstep. Bihar is changing because our resolve is unwavering: Developed Bihar, Prosperous Bihar,” he added.
In another post, the Chief Minister said, “A historic step has been taken toward making Bihar a national hub for food processing. Approval has been granted for the establishment of the country’s third National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) in Hajipur, Vaishali district, which will be developed over 100 acres.”
“This institute will take food processing, research, technical education, and entrepreneurship to new heights, while opening new opportunities for our farmers, youth, and entrepreneurs. The NDA government’s commitment is clear — new opportunities, new momentum, prosperous Bihar,” he added.
He concluded his post with the hashtags #SamriddhBihar and #NewBihar.
