The Election Commission of India (ECI) Monday said that 14 days were left for filing claims and objections related to the draft electoral roll in Bihar.
In its daily press bulletin, the ECI said 1,60,813 Booth Level Agents have been appointed by recognized political parties in Bihar to collect claims and objections from the public while 45,616 claims and objections have been received directly from electors, of which 1,348 have been disposed of after 7 days. So far, 1,52,651 forms have been received from new electors who have attained 18 years of age or above, including six forms received from BLAs.
The poll panel said claims and objections are to be disposed of by the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO)/Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) not before the expiry of 7 days after verification of eligibility documents.
