RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial face, Tejashwi Yadav, is trailing in Raghopur assembly constituency as counting of votes for the high-stakes Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is underway on Friday.

After 12 rounds of counting, Tejashwi was trailing by a significant margin of 4570 votes against his BJP rival Satish Kumar. The BJP candidate received 48453 votes against Tejashwi Yadav’s 43883 votes after 12 rounds. Jan Suraaj Party’s Chanchal Kumar was a distant third.

Tejashwi’s elder brother and Janshakti Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav was also trailing in Mahua. Tej Pratap, who was ousted from the RJD over a love affair, had floated his own party. The RJD had also fielded its candidate against him.

After 15 rounds of counting, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) candidate Sanjay Kumar Singh was leading with a margin of 25,243 votes. Mukesh Kumar Raushan of the RJD was distant second. Tej Pratap was third, a distant one with hardly any hope of recovering his chances.

With both sons of RJD patron Lalu Prasad Yadav trailing, the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan appeared to be heading towards a humiliating victory. According to late-afternoon trends, the JDU-led NDA was leading by 202 seats, and the Mahagathbandhan was ahead by just 35 seats.

In party-wise trends, NDA ally BJP was ahead in 92 of the 101 seats it contested. Nitish Kumar’s JDU was ahead in 82 seats and Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in 20 seats. Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAMS was also leading in 5 of the six seats it contested.

In the Opposition camp, RJD was leading in just 26 seats. The Congress party was ahead in just 4 seats. Left parties were leading in just 3 seats. Interestingly, Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM was leading in six seats, two more than the Congress party.
