Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said on Sunday that his government is aiming to achieve Rs 5 lakh crore of investment in the state by the month of November. A large number of factories should be established here. People may go outside Bihar for better job opportunities, but no one should be forced to leave the state for employment out of compulsion.

Addressing a public gathering in his home district Munger for the first time after taking oath as Chief Minister, Choudhary said, “People expect that India should develop and Bihar should prosper. Our goal is to bring in Rs 5 lakh crore of investment in Bihar by November.”

“Efforts in this direction are ongoing. Work is progressing to establish a large number of factories in Bihar. Investments worth Rs 1.36 lakh crore have already been initiated in projects like the Pirpainti Thermal Power Plant and the Nabinagar Thermal Power Plant,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that his objective is to ensure basic facilities reach the people of Bihar and that government services are easily accessible. For this, instructions have been given to establish a monitoring system from the Chief Minister’s Office for blocks, circles, and police stations.

To ensure that people’s problems are resolved easily, camps will be organised in panchayats two days every month. He also said that strict action will be taken against officials who keep files pending for more than one month.

Choudhary announced that a Marine Drive is being constructed from Munger to Bhagalpur. Work is also being carried out to regulate the water of the Ganga River so that people in the region can get relief from floods.

Irrigation facilities are being expanded. Several lakes and dams in the area are being used to store Ganga water, ensuring easier water supply.

“Irrigation facilities are being expanded. Several lakes and dams are storing water from the Ganga River to ensure easy water availability,” he said, adding, “Until farmers become prosperous, Bihar cannot become strong.”
