As Bihar heads to a decisive second phase of Assembly elections 2025 on Tuesday, November 11, both the Opposition’s Mahagathbandhan and the ruling NDA are confident of their victory. Ahead of tomorrow’s polling, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Mahagathbandhan government will “liberate Bihar from 20 years of helpless governance”.

“Now migration will stop, the darkness over the future of youth will be removed, and every household will have a brighter tomorrow! We will end injustice, transform Bihar with social justice,” Kharge said in a post on X.

RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s CM face, Tejashwi Yadav, said that after November 14 (counting day), Bihar will be made the number one state in the country, where there will be proper arrangements for food processing units, industries, education, healthcare, employment, and irrigation, along with super-specialty hospitals, Educational City, and IT hubs. “No Bihari will need to go to another city,” Yadav promised.

The BJP-led NDA camp is also hopeful of retaining power. BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal claimed that after the first phase of elections, Tejashwi Yadav and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi are losing sleep. ”They know that power has slipped from their hands. They are now trying to win just 20 seats,” Mr Jaiswal told a news agency in Bettiah.

Bihar saw bumper voting in the first phase polling held on November 6, recording a historic 64.66 per cent voter turnout. Both camps are interpreting the historic first-phase voter turnout in their favour. Mahagathbandhan leaders are saying the highest first-phase voter turnout in the state’s history is a clear sign of change. The NDA sees it differently—an enthusiasm of voters to retain the Nitish Kumar-led government.

But what exactly is in the minds of the people of Bihar will be known when the final results are declared on November 14.

Below are the live updates on the Bihar Assembly elections 2025:

What did Tejashwi Yadav say on ECI?

Earlier today, addressing a press conference in Patna, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, "The first phase of the elections was on November 6. Today is November 10. Even after 4 days, the data has not been made public... Earlier, they used to tell on the same day manually. Why is the data being concealed? The voting is on November 11 and the voting is on the 14th. But you won't know for more than 4 days how many votes were cast... BJP will carry on with its sins and the Election Commission will keep covering... The Election Commission is dead and has become a tool."

Reacting to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's remark, calling the Election Commission of India 'dead' and a 'tool', BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "My counter-allegation is that, whether it is Rahul Gandhi or his allied parties, whenever they don't get what they want, they start making frivolous statements about institutions like the Election Comission, the Courts, the CAG, and the Parliament. It is their nature to attack all the crucial organs of democracy."
