Bharat Jodo Yatra resumes in Delhi, heads for UP

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed on Tuesday from Delhi’s Marghat Hanuman Mandir near Kashmere Gate after a nine-day Christmas and New Year break. The yatra is now headed for the Uttar Pradesh leg on its onward march.

Former Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) secretary Amarjit Singh Dulat walked along with the Congress MP during the Yatra in Delhi.

Sharing a picture of A S Dulat and Rahul Gandhi walking hand-in-hand, the Congress tweeted, “Former Special Director of the Indian Intelligence Bureau & former Secretary of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) Shri A.S. Dulat joins Shri @RahulGandhi during the #BharatJodoYatra. A.S. Dulat also served as an advisor on J&K in the Vajpayee government after his retirement.”

Rahul Gandhi visited Marghat Hanuman Mandir in the morning. Temple Mahant Vaibhav Sharma said that Rahul Gandhi chanted mantras in his mind and bowed before the idol of Hanuman.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Uttar Pradesh from Delhi via Loni. A large number of people were present along the way to welcome the Yatra. The Yatra is expected to cross through Uttar Pradesh over a span of three days before re-entering Haryana on 6 January.

Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also joined the Yatra with Rahul Gandhi in Seelampur, Delhi. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi joined the UP leg of the yatra today.

BSP supremo Mayawati and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav have extended their warm wishes to Bharat Jodo Yatra but won’t join the Yatra in Uttar Pradesh.
