Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026

A young participant from Bathinda has brought recognition to Punjab by representing the state at the national-level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026, an initiative organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of India’s My Bharat programme.

District Youth Officer Misha said Prakash Pandey, a student of the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, earned the opportunity through a series of competitive rounds conducted at the district and state levels.

According to officials, Pandey’s journey began with the district-level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament competition jointly organised by My Bharat Bathinda and Guru Kashi University. After securing first position in the district event, he advanced to the state-level competition held in Chandigarh, where he again emerged as the top performer.

His success at the state level paved the way for his selection to represent Punjab at the national Youth Parliament held at the Parliament House complex in New Delhi from June 15 to 17.

During the event, participants from across the country were given an opportunity to observe and understand the functioning of India’s parliamentary system. Pandey attended sessions that provided insights into the working of the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and various parliamentary processes.

At the prestigious platform, he delivered his views on the subject of the “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam” and presented his arguments before fellow participants and organisers.

Officials said his achievement reflects the growing participation of Punjab’s youth in national-level forums and highlights the importance of platforms that encourage young people to engage with democratic institutions and public policy discussions.

The district administration and youth affairs officials congratulated Pandey on his accomplishment and expressed hope that his success would inspire more young people from the region to participate in similar programmes in the future.
