The historic moment of hoisting the Dharma Dhwaj atop the Shri Ram Mandir filled the entire city of Ayodhya with profound devotion. Devotees thronged major streets, including Dharmapath, chanting “Jai Shri Ram” as the atmosphere turned spiritually electrifying.
Thousands of devotees gathered at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk to watch the live telecast of the Dhwajarohan ceremony. As soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the Dharma Dhwaj atop the Ram Mandir, the entire crowd erupted with chants of “Jai Shri Ram,” overwhelmed with emotion and reverence.
A large number of devotees arrived not only from Ayodhya but also from neighbouring districts such as Sultanpur, Basti, Ambedkar Nagar, and Barabanki, in addition to several other parts of North India.
Rajendra Prasad Pandey, who came from Shravasti, said he had reached Ayodhya on November 17 and felt proud to witness this momentous occasion. He added that Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had restored Ayodhya’s glory and transformed the city into a clean, healthy, and beautiful pilgrimage destination.
Vishwanath Jaiswal, also from Shravasti, said that the construction of the Ram Mandir was a historic achievement and that PM Modi and CM Yogi had accomplished what no one had been able to do before.
A Ram devotee from Gopalganj, Bihar, dressed as Lord Hanuman, captivated the crowd with devotional singing and dancing, further elevating the spiritual atmosphere.
Women devotees from Delhi — Madhu, Dharana, Santosh, and Pooja — said that upon entering the Ram Mandir complex, they felt as though they had stepped into heaven.
Sant Ramakant Sharma, who has been visiting Ayodhya for the past 25 years, said that the city had not only modernized but also regained the divine aura of the Treta Yuga. Amid the melodious sounds of drums and cymbals, groups of saints transformed the gathering into a vibrant cultural celebration.
This event was far more than a religious ritual; it emerged as a living symbol of the confluence of faith, history, and modernity, reaffirming Ayodhya’s spiritual prestige on the world stage.
