All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday strongly condemned the November 10 Red Fort blast, in which 15 people were killed after a Hyundai i20 driven by Umar-un-Nabi exploded near the historic Delhi landmark.
Addressing a gathering in Hyderabad, Owaisi said that those involved in planning or executing such acts must be condemned openly, regardless of their background.
‘Enemies of the nation are our enemies’
Referring to reports that the accused had been studying at an educational institution while allegedly planning the attack, Owaisi said there could be “no justification” for such actions.
“…We condemn anyone who sits in an educational institution and conspires to build bombs…14 people, including Hindus and Muslims, were killed (in Delhi blast). We should openly condemn all such people. Enemies of the nation are our enemies,” he said.
He added that failing to denounce such acts would “give a free pass” to those involved in violence.
“But those who think that Muslims will be made second-class citizens, but that will never happen. As long as the world lives on, Indian Muslims will live in the country as respectable citizens,” he said.

‘We never hated our nation’
Meanwhile, Owaisi criticised those who question the community’s loyalty.
“…To those who abuse Muslims and demand a certificate of loyalty from us, we went through a lot and we will face a lot tomorrow as well, but we never hated our nation,” he said.
Owaisi argued that prejudice weakens the nation’s social fabric. “…if they are suppressing Muslims, they are weakening India. How will India become a developed country if you view Muslims with hatred and do injustice to them?” he asked.

Citing the Ayodhya title dispute judgment, Owaisi said Muslims respected the judicial process even when the verdict went against them.
“…The mosque judgment was not in our favour, but did a Muslim go to the Court and hurl a shoe at any judge? Nothing is said about the one who actually hurled the shoe because he belongs to the majority community. We have always loved the nation, and we will always love it,” he said.
