The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth on Thursday visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch, Rajouri and Sunderbani sectors of Jammu and Kashmir and reviewed the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness of the formations deployed in the region.
During his visit, General Seth was briefed on the evolving security environment along the LoC, operational deployments, surveillance architecture, field innovations and the integrated operational readiness of the formations under the White Knight Corps.
The Army Chief also assessed the counter-insurgency grid and reviewed measures being undertaken to maintain a high level of preparedness in the challenging terrain of the region. He was briefed on ongoing infrastructure development projects aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and improving facilities for troops deployed in forward areas.
The COAS also took stock of the Army’s sustained efforts towards empowering communities residing in India’s first villages through people-centric initiatives and outreach programmes, aimed at strengthening connectivity, development and engagement with local populations.
Commending the troops for their professionalism and dedication, General Seth appreciated all ranks for their operational excellence and unwavering commitment to duty. He exhorted personnel to remain mission-focused, maintain operational agility and continue striving for excellence in all domains.
The visit comes amid continued efforts by the Army to strengthen surveillance, enhance border infrastructure and maintain a robust security posture along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.
