Police seized a tiger hide, a rifle and 285 cartridges from the premises of an arms store owner in the Ramganj area of the old walled city here on Friday.

A police spokesperson said a team from the Manak Chowk police station raided the arms store on Friday morning following a tip-off from Jodhpur police after the arrest of a head constable and an LDC with a pistol and 30 cartridges on Thursday.

Acting on the tip-off, the police team raided the arms store and searched the owner’s residence, recovering a tiger hide, a rifle and 285 cartridges.

The owner was subsequently arrested.

Earlier, the Dangiawas police in Jodhpur, acting on a tip-off from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), nabbed Head Constable Amin Khan and LDC Waghe Khan with a rifle and 20 cartridges.

During interrogation, the duo told police that they had purchased the weapon and cartridges from an arms store in Ramganj, Jaipur, leading to raids there on Friday.

Head Constable Amin Khan had earlier served as a gunman to former Congress Minister Saleh Mohammad.

The Jodhpur police were also bringing the accused constable and the LDC to Jaipur for joint interrogation by police and ATS sleuths.
