New Delhi, 14 November: Defence Minister AK Antony leaves tomorrow on a four-day visit to Russia during which he would induct the long-delayed aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya, which would boost India&’s maritime capabilities.
The Minister will be leading a high-level delegation, including Defence Secretary R K Mathur and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral D K Joshi. He would be co-chairing the 13th meeting of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military Technical Cooperation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu. The aircraft carrier, which was contracted in 2004, has seen several time and cost-overruns. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin will be attending the commissioning along with Mr Shoigu. SNS
