The Rajasthan Police on Friday arrested a local handler of notorious Pakistan terrorist Shahzaad Bhatti in Barmer. He was indulging in suspicious activities.
District Superintendent of Police Chuna Ram Jat said the youth, Bashir (20) from the border village Gagaria, was apprehended at his native place under the Ramsar police station based on a tip-off received from the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).
Initial grilling of Bashir established his links with the Dubai based Pakistani terrorist, however, the type of activities he was involved in and the tasks he has done (or is doing) are yet to be ascertained.
Now, the state police and ATS sleuths will jointly interrogate the youth further.
Earlier, another handler of Bhatti, Krish Rai alias Shaan, was arrested in Hanumangarh town on Saturday last.
Following the arrests of terrorist handler Krish in Hanumangarh and some others in different places across the country, including Delhi, the ATS was keeping a vigilant eye on the activities of Bhatti’s followers on social media platforms.
Based on that vigilance, the ATS conducted raids in some towns in Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Dungarpur on Friday. Some miscreants have reportedly been picked up for interrogation.
