A day after the blast near Red Fort here left 10 people dead and several others injured, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday chaired a high-level security review meeting in wake of the explosion that took place . According to sources, besides the security scenario, he took stock of the ongoing probe into the matter.
The blast took place in a car on the Netaji Subhash Marg signal near Red Fort last evening.
The Union home secretary, director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Delhi Police commissioner, and director general of the NIA were present in the meeting, while the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir is said to have attended it virtually.
All leads on the blast are being thoroughly looked into by multiple security agencies involved in the investigation, which is taking place exploring all the angles. Security has been stepped up, especially across all sensitive areas, especially places with heavier footfall in the national capital, including railway stations, airports, and metro stations.
The authorities concerned are maintaining heightened vigil to ensure public safety and restore normalcy in the aftermath of the tragic incident.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also taken stock of the situation following the incident and spoken to the home minister, who had visited the blast site and met the injured at LNJP Hospital.
