The Allahabad High Court will hear the anticipatory bail pleas of Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati and Swami Mukundanand Giri tomorrow.
Both have filed anticipatory bail pleas in the high court to avoid arrest after the Jhunsi police station in Prayagraj registered an FIR under the POCSO Act on the orders of the court.
A single bench of Justice Jitendra Kumar Sinha will hear the petitions.
Meanwhile, medical reports of the minor children, who were purported to be the victims of sexual assault by Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda in Prayagraj, have confirmed sexual exploitation. Police conducted the medical examinations of both minor victims on Wednesday.
Although the complainant, Ashutosh Brahmachari, also stated that the medical report confirmed rape of the children, it is believed that the law will now tighten its grip on Swami Avimukteshwarananda.
The police will also submit a medical report to the court. Based on the medical report, Swami Avimukteshwarananda may also face a major setback from the high court.
A case has been registered against Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati, his disciple Mukundanand Giri, and three unidentified persons at the Jhunsi police station under the POCSO Act.
During the investigation names of Arvind Mishra and Prakash Upadhyay also cropped up.
