The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to Zafar Ali, who is accused of involvement in the violence during the survey at Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal.
The court’s single bench of Justice Sameer Jain gave relief to Zafar Ali here on Thursday.
Violence took place during the survey of Sambhal Jama Masjid on November 24, 2024. In this case, an FIR was lodged against SP MP Zia ur Rehman Barq and Sambhal’s SP MLA Iqbal Mahmood’s son Sohail Iqbal.
It was argued that the mosque’s head, Zafar Ali’s name was not included in the FIR. On March 23, 2025, the police arrested Zafar Ali during the investigation.
The police arrested Ali on charges of inciting violence during the survey. After which the hearing on this matter was going on continuously in the Allahabad High Court and today the court granted bail to Ali. Presently, he is in Moradabad jail.
