All-party meeting on Jharkhand voter roll revision on 22 May

Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar has convened an all-party meeting on May 22 regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls scheduled to begin in the state from June 30.

The meeting will discuss preparations related to the special intensive revision of voters and training of Booth Level Agents (BLAs), officials said on Friday.

The Chief Electoral Officer said a video conference meeting with district election officers and deputy election officers of all districts would also be held to review preparedness for the exercise.

As part of the process, the list of all unmapped voters along with names and contact numbers of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be published at polling stations on May 23.

According to the Election Commission of India, door-to-door voter verification across Jharkhand will be conducted from June 30 to July 29.

A total of 29,571 BLOs will be deployed for verification of 2,64,89,777 voters in the state. Election Commission data showed that 21,644 BLAs nominated by political parties are also expected to play a key role in the revision exercise.

Officials said training programmes for BLAs would be conducted by the Election Commission.

As per the schedule issued by the Commission, revision of polling stations will be completed by July 29, while the draft publication of electoral rolls will take place on August 5.

Claims and objections regarding the voter list can be submitted between August 5 and September 4. Disposal of objections will continue till October 3, while the final publication of electoral rolls is scheduled for October 7, 2026.
